GM: Carlo Amato

In an aggressive 1880 move, France was able to seize sole control of Egypt. Britain responded in 1884 by placing a protectorate in Marocco, trampling the Spanish influence, in an attempt to restore the North/South path. France supported Spain and built an international coalition to oppose Britain. In a bizarre series of diplomatic twists, Italy flopped back and forth between allying with Britain and the French coalition. Realizing that Italy was doomed to a very low finish by the failed diplomacy, Italy deliberately caused the Great War by supporting Great Britain after France, Spain and Russia had declared war on Britain over Marocco.

So, the game ended with an 1884 Great War. There was no Chinese Rebellion.
