The game ended in 1896 when the ETI exceeded the randomly determined threshold (78) due to the forced removal or reduction of Interests following British, French, and German upgrades of Protectorates to Possessions; those three powers took the triple penalty. There was one Chinese Rebellion, in 1892. In addition to the variant ETI threshold, all codominions were treated as partitions.
