The game ended in 1884 when European tensions hit the end mark (randomly and secretly determined) of 97 when Japan (at War with America, Britain, and Russia) signed a Separate Peace with America. America and Japan took the penalty. There were no Chinese Rebellions.
The game was colored by a Japanese conquest of Korea in 1880, which set up a run of bad feelings between a British-Russian alliance and a Japanese-French alliance. Korea continually proved to be the focal point of this game (Russia and Britain finished with joint Control of it).
